Due to the COVID-19 situation most of us are unclear about the options of professional interaction with Plastic Surgeons.
At Hamilton House Plastic Surgery we abide by the SA Health recommendations especially with regard to cosmetic plastic surgery consultations. For the time being we are not allowed to offer face to face consultations and no elective (cosmetic) surgery is permitted.
Because eventually this pandemic will blow over, now is the time to consider a TeleHealth virtual consultation with Dr Richard Hamilton to explore your options.
For Telehealth virtual consultations you may stay in the comfort of your own home and use your phone, your iPhone, your iPad or your laptop computer – these are devices you will use more and more of in the coming weeks and months.
TeleHealth virtual consultations have been around for some years for rural and remote patients but now with modern technology, it is being utilised more and more by patients interested in cosmetic surgery so they can obtain advice and prepare for action when the bans are lifted.
Dr Richard Hamilton and Hamilton House Plastic Surgery are now offering TeleHealth virtual consultations for patients interested in cosmetic surgery. Â Whilst a TeleHealth virtual consultation by no means takes the place of a face to face consultation, it is still however extraordinarily valuable.
For your convenience Hamilton House Plastic Surgery is recommending using Skype where we can meet with you, assess your problem and discuss with you the surgical options. We will discuss how we go about the surgery and the risks and complications of surgery.
A lot of information can be transferred from doctor to patient and equally from patient to doctor, such that a surgeon with the extensive and in depth experience of Dr Richard Hamilton, one of Adelaide’s most experienced and trusted surgeons, remarkable progress can be made so that the follow up face to face preop consultation is considerably simpler.
My experience is that TeleHealth virtual consultations are really valuable as they allow you to explain your problem to me, allow me to explain what I think will help you and elaborate on how we would go about the surgery – just as I would in a conventional face to face consultation.
Make no mistake it will be a real in depth consultation. I will write notes in your medical record, I will draw diagrams just like I do in a face to face consultation and I will show them to you on the screen to illustrate the basis of your problem and the surgery I recommend . I will give you as much detail as possible.
You will have every opportunity to ask me questions about the proposed procedure so you can make a well informed educated decision. And my staff and I will use our professional training, our expensive experience, the best science and our empathy to support you every step of the way.
If you would like your initial consultation via TeleHealth firstly please set up your device with Skype. It will work on your iPhone, iPad or laptop / computer, but the bigger the screen the better. At our end we will use a laptop. Headphones or ear buds may be an advantage to improve the clarity.
